What are the responsibilities and job description for the UX Designer position at Tesla?
The UX Designer will contribute to the Enterprise Design Team's ongoing effort to establishing a culture and proactive design within our organization that will improve the way we deliver tools to our internal employees. At Tesla, the UX designer will be responsible for developing the overall user-experience functionality of our Internal employee applications. The UX Designer should be passionate about resolving our employees pain points through design.
While the team is evolving, the UX Designer will be responsible for defining user-centered processes and ensure they proliferate across the teams that they support. The UX Design team builds coalitions and brings teams together through a strong shared language of design and a passion for learning more about the technical aspects of UX Design. The UX designer will collaborate on business requirements, analyze technical limitations, perceive and conduct research on user behavior, and translate them into user stories, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Interact with business users and product management team regularly and convert their ideas into concepts.
- Regularly review all designs with the larger UX team to ensure consistency.
- Develop and deliver wireframes, user journeys, mockups, and prototypes optimized for a wide range of hardware devices and interfaces.
- Participate in design discussions along with product management teams. Provide walkthroughs and demos on user journeys, mockups, and other deliverables to the development team, business stakeholders, and product teams.
- Conduct research, conceive, sketch, prototype, and test user experiences for our internal employee applications.
- Take a user-centered design (UCD) approach to develop UX solutions. Rapidly test and iterate designs without slipping the deadlines.
- Conduct usability tests on each application, module, web page, or feature on the web applications and create a report showcasing your findings to the management.
- Identify design problems and technical limitations from time to time and devise elegant solutions using the latest trends and techniques.
- Be passionate about all things in user experience and other areas of design and innovation-research and showcase knowledge in the latest trends and technologies from time to time.
- A minimum of 2-4 years experience in UX designing using best practices and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
- Expertise in standard UX software such as Zeplin, InVision, Balsamiq, Figma, and similar tools is necessary. Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills is required.
- Communicate clearly and effectively on the design processes, ideas, and solutions to the development teams, business stakeholders, and product management teams.
- Candidate should have hands-on experience in planning and conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, and identifying accessibility concerns.
- Have an open mindset to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
