ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently looking for a Material Handler to work in our Rocky Mount, Virginia plant. The Material Handler will safely and efficiently operate motorized forklift to load and unload supplies inside and outside the plant. The right person will love working outdoors, along with it being a very “hands-on” role. Additionally, our Material Handler will need to enjoy being an active problem-solver while working in a very fast-paced environment.
Duties include:
- Operate Forklift in a safe and efficient manner – adhering to all safety and training guidelines while performing job duties
- Maneuver Forklift inside and outside facility delivering and stocking materials
- Retrieves supplies and materials, secures pallets on truck, moves pallet to Production location
- Assure materials meet all current requirements for installation, durability and compliance
- Monitor inventory and maintain an adequate stock of materials to prevent supply shortages
- Maintain tight control of shipping and receiving of materials
- Store and stock all materials according to manufacturer’s requirement
- Assure good material handling procedures and make material easily accessible to production team
- Segregate, salvage, return or dispose of materials that become unusable in the course of handling, production or inspection
- Keeps forklift operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs
- Performs various other job duties as assigned, when necessary
- Maintain a good attendance record as it is critical for success
- Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Must possess a valid driver’s license along with High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred
- Must be capable of performing the job duties required safely, accurately, and in a timely manner without having to be constantly supervised
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to work safely and be flexible to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Ability to be trained and take direction, as well as work in a team with others
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass a Pre-employment background check and drug screen
