ABOUT THE ROLE
Production management supports the strategic planning process for manufacturing as well as oversees implementation of segment plans across manufacturing operations – ensuring that all the different functional areas work together to maximize profitability.
General managers are accountable for their assigned production facility, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness, a safe work environment, team culture and morale, customer satisfaction, and achievement of financial goals. He/she coaches and develops managers and employees. He/she is accountable for results, development of KPIs, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops strategic plans, forecasts and budgets.
- Oversees all aspects of assigned plant operations.
- Coaches and develops managers and production supervisors and develops succession planning for managers.
- Maintains open communication with plant managers, production supervisors, and employees regarding safety concerns, achievement of production quality, and production productivity goals.
- Performs various other job duties as assigned and needed.
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
- Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation.
- Directs personnel program.
- Recommends budgets to top management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree and housing manufacturing experience required.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple teams in order to consistently meet production goals is required.
- Demonstrated ability to support and encourage staff, demonstrate empathy for others, to be trained, and take direction is required. This ability should include an appreciation for coaching of other people leaders (development of general managers and plants functional managers who in turn must have or learn how to coach and develop other managers and individual team members).
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
