What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dolby Vision MQC Operator position at Testronic?
Dolby Vision MCQ Operator performs thorough technical and aesthetic reviews of new release content for the major studios. We are searching for the "golden eyes" of Hollywood to bolster our current team in Burbank. Daily responsibilities would consist of checking in with the project manager and receive your QC job. You are expected to deliver a thorough QC report with clear and concise notations on a variety of content from high source HDR DoVi TIFF sequences to HD SDR ProRes file formats noting timecode ins and outs with audio, video, textless and formatting issues documented. Must have the ability to detect QC anomalies, such as digital hits, framing errors, dead pixels, visible production equipment, density shifts color inconsistencies, etc. The QC report should be completed in a timely manner.
In this role, you will be required to resolve technical or deadline related issues and collaborate with operational departments and have the strong ability to follow direction and work unsupervised.
- Candidates must have experience in high source mastering such as HD, UHD/4K, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 and content.
- At least 3 years of experience in Master Quality Control and time in a post facility is a plus.
- Competency in the following file formats: ProsREs, TIFF, DPX, IMF, etc.
- Competency in the following color gamut's: Rec709, Rec2020, Dolby Vision etc.
- Competency in the following audio codecs: 2.0,5.1,7.1, Atmos, etc.
- Competency in using a waveform monitor and audio meters to document levels.
- Must be able to write clear and concise notes regarding issues found in QC.
- Knowledge of one or more playback devices such as ColorFront Transkoder & QC Player, Adobe Premier, GrayMeta IRIS, Clipster, DaVinci Resolve, Switch, etc.
- Must have knowledge of video standards and ability to read client Technical Specifications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of the following studio workflows: Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Disney, Hulu, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot and act as a critical thinker.
Compensation will commensurate with experience, range $25 - $40 per hour
