TETER Architects Engineers is looking to add an experienced Architectural Specifications Writer to our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with expertise in architectural specifications and a passion for ensuring projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You'll prepare specifications for projects in a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, and more.

What You'll Do

• Develop comprehensive project manuals and specifications across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and more.
• Stay abreast of building codes, industry standards, technological advancements, and construction processes.
• Manage and update the firm's master specifications library.
• Collaborate closely with project teams to align specifications with design intent and project requirements.
• Review and edit specifications prepared by in-house architects and consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
• Provide guidance and support to project teams on specification-related matters.
• Maintain the firm's materials library and liaise with product representatives.
• Provide training to staff on specification production, coordination, and interpretation.

Your Qualifications

• More than 8 years of professional architecture experience.
• Five or more years of experience in preparing project manuals and specifications.
• CSI Certified Construction Specifier and/or California Architect license preferred.
• Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Architecture or equivalent.
• Proficient in common building types, materials, products, systems, and technical detailing.
• Familiarity with AIA contract documents and coordination required between varying contract types and specifications.
• Working knowledge of sustainable products and materials.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and technical software such as MasterSpec and CAD/REVIT.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected annual salary for this role is $81,500-120,000 (must be willing to work in-office 50% of each week). Actual pay will be determined based on Architecture license, experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
