Your Role :
The CAD Technician will play a key role in preparing submittal documents for projects in Southeastern Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region. The individual will work with the Project Manager and Project Engineers to prepare construction documents for land development, stormwater, utility infrastructure, and environmental projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D software and Revit. Major duties/responsibilities of the position include:
• Prepare complete construction documents, including plan, section, and detail drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, including but not limited to structural, architectural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
• Coordinate, communicate, and collaborate with team members across disciplines and offices.
• Ensure drawing compliance with company and client CAD standards and styles.
• Ability to create layouts from process and instrumentation diagrams, including structural and architectural layouts.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Consulting with clients and members of the design and construction teams to discuss specifications.
• Proofing designs for potential errors
• Presenting design drafts for clients and team members to assess
• Making revisions based on feedback
• Creating models of proposed designs, either 2D or 3D, using CAD software.
• Creating models using PCSWIM.
• Meeting with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
• Field Inspection and construction administration experience.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Project/Task management experience desired.
• Experience in monitoring maintenance budgets
• Experience developing CIP project budgets.
• Experience with asset management
• Experience with pipeline system condition assessment and rehabilitation
• Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing construction documents for land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
• Able to create surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors.
• Ability to lead production staff to complete deliverables on time.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ensure collection of completed documentation including contract submittals, QA/QC records, as-built information, as well as the issuance of inspection completion certificates.
