Segue Technologies, A Tetra Tech Company, seeks a Test Engineer. This is a full-time remote position. The Test Engineer will be responsible for writing and running tests, reviewing and analyzing test results, identifying defects/bugs, communicating with the software engineers and support team, re-testing and verifying defects/bugs are fixed, and assisting in various other phases of the development lifecycle when needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Create and execute formal test scripts
· Create and review test plan documents as required
· Work with a team of System Engineers, Software Engineers and Test Engineering personnel for sustainment efforts of the Graduate Training Information Management System (G/TIMS) applications
· Create and execute formal test scripts against documented acceptance criteria and based upon system knowledge/experience
· Perform secondary error discovery, triage and verification and validation of fixes
· Perform testing in multiple environments
· Review, analyze and address incident tickets
· Document and report test activity to the change process
· Ensure validated and approved issues are documented and tracked in issue tracking system for future analysis
· Test features according to the Life-Cycle Systems Engineering Principles and Practices
· Perform Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) as part of continuous improvement to verify functionality works as intended, is documented, and is free of defects
· Apply regression testing to ensure no bugs are released into related areas of the application.
· Perform test verification
· Provide testing coverage for all active user environments
· Additional tasks as required
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, Software Engineering or another technical field, or related major. Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
· 4 years of software/test engineering experience
· Experience in the application of various formal and documented testing methods and tools
· Experience with the Microsoft suite of Office products
· Experience with formal application lifecycle management tools (e.g., Jira, Redmine)
· Experience in testing multi-tiered Windows applications and Web applications
· Familiarity with SQL, including the ability to write, modify, and execute SQL queries to support the test process and test data validation
· Comfortable working in both Windows client-server and Web-based development in separate QA and production environments
· Understanding of the SDLC process as it pertains to testing
· Ability to read and execute test plans based on product/feature specifications
· Ability to study product specifications, maintain existing test guidelines, and create innovative testing methods and test cases
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory direction
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Active CompTIA Security Certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of employment start
Desired Skills:
· Strong preference for current knowledge of G/TIMS program
· Current knowledge of Air Force Network Environments
· Experience with DoD System Development
· Redmine ticketing system knowledge
· Experience converting existing manual test cases into automated test sequences
· Automated testing experience
· Experience working with Agile teams
· Active DoD Secret Clearance and/or ability to obtain
