Tetra Tech Infrastructure Northeast (INE) is seeking a Transportation/Highway Engineer to join our full-service transportation planning and design group primarily serving the New England states, with occasional specialized assistance to Tetra Tech projects nation-wide and world-wide. If you are a technical professional ready to who has a growth mindset – this role is for you!

Our practice is focused on both public and private projects ranging from routine transportation solutions to multimodal mega-projects and complicated design-build delivery. You’ll work closely with our New England transportation group, who has a long and successful history of delivering complex, innovative, and successful award-winning projects. Most importantly, you’ll be joining communities-focused, cohesive regional operating unit, supported by national and international resources.    

How You’ll Make an Impact

The primary goal of this role is to collaborate with our successful transportation professional on a wide range of projects. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing roadway/highway projects from inception to completion
  • Designing horizontal geometry, profiles, and grading
  • Designing and analyzing drainage systems and storm water management infrastructure
  • Working on Complete Streets, green infrastructure, design pavements, markings/signs, including highway guide signs
  • Preparing Right of Way plans
  • Preparing Temporary Traffic Control Plans
  • Developing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and specifications
  • Attending client meetings and preparing presentations

You will achieve your best if you have…

  • 4-8 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • EIT certification
  • Intermediate AutoCAD/Civil 3D design skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment with staff from different disciplines and backgrounds Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires successful evaluation of a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and maintaining a safe driving record

You will stand out with

  • PE License
  • MassDOT experience
  • Drainage design and stormwater management experience
  • Experience with SignCAD, StormCAD, HydroCAD, AutoTurn
