Tetra Tech’s commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We are currently seeking a motivated, articulate, and dynamic, GIS Analyst (Entry-level) to support our natural resources projects and programs.
The successful candidate will have experience with ArcGIS or similar software and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects in a team-setting. A willingness to learn to leverage existing systems, templates and workflows is key. This individual will be detail oriented and will be asked to manage extremely large datasets within the confines of stringent agreements with clients. There may be potential for full time employment for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with GIS Manager, and with other project managers and personnel.
- Prepare hard copy and electronic cartographic maps and field maps in ArcGIS.
- Perform geospatial data management, analysis and documentation.
- Identify published sources and downloading of spatial data in support of natural resources projects.
- Set up, collect, download, and post-process GPS data from a wide range of sources.
Minimum Requirements:
- A BS or BA degree or higher in Environmental Science, GIS/Geography, Biology, Natural Resources, Marine Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience working with ESRI’s ArcGIS ArcPro software.
- Proficiency with ESRI’s ArcGIS Online field data collection applications such as Field Maps, Survey123.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, cartographic map creation, ESRI ArcGIS Software.
- Experience creating cartographic maps.
- Experience creating and editing GIS data.
- Strong oral and written communication/interpersonal skills.
- A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Desired but not Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Python, ArcGIS Model Builder, ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst extensions.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS Portal and ESRI Applications – Web Appbuilder, StoryMap Builder, Experience Builder.
- Working knowledge of Apple IOS and Android Operating Systems.
- Working knowledge of critical issues as they pertain to renewable energy and transmission projects.
- Experience using Visual Studio or similar.
