Reports Developer

Position Summary:

Segue Technologies, A Tetra Tech Company seeks a Reports Developer to create reports and make trends and insights visuals using Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting Tools (BIRT) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based tools.

This is a full-time remote position. Occasional travel expected to the Indian Affairs Office in Albuquerque, NM or nearest Indian Affairs office (less than 10%)

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with business user groups to understand business requirements and translate them into innovative visualizations and appropriate, efficient reports
• Design, modify, debug, develop, write, and implement reporting solutions
• Use Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) and various query tools to extract and format information from multiple databases
• Determine the source of required data, write queries, write reports, format data and review and test query results
• Gather and analyze business requirements for reporting needs
• Understand and propose improvements to underlying data models
• Acquire, sanitize, merge, transform and validate complex multi-sourced data in support of various analyses and projects
• Understand client strategy and develop reports that drive decisions based on data to execute client strategy
• Create easily digestible data visualization and dashboards and set up reporting systems to make information available on a self-service basis and make trends and insights easy to see
• Review reporting processes, create and maintain dashboards and tools to track and inform team metrics across multiple client sites
• Generate data and reports for individual client sites, demonstrating current and cumulative performance
• Liaise between business and IT to enhance and troubleshoot supported systems that impact processes and reporting
• Additional tasks as required

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, IT Systems, Software Engineering or another technical field, or related major. Relevant technical experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
• 5 years’ experience as Report Developer/Engineer
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Query/data Analytics and performance tuning
• Proficiency in BIRT reports development for IBM Maximo, maintenance and debugging
• BI Reporting experience with various tools such as AWS data analytics and reporting tools, Cognos, Business Objects etc.
• Experience with Data Modelling concepts
• Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must hold or be able to pass a Federal Background investigation to obtain a T1 (also known as Public Trust or NACI)

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with one or more data aggregation and analysis languages like Python, R, etc.
• Microsoft Power BI development experience plus
• Strong background in building the visualizations using Power BI or other reporting tools
• Prior working knowledge with AWS Cloud and BI/reporting tools
