Job Description

Reporting to the US Medical Sr Director/US Medical Lead, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the Medical Plans and providing a rigorous scientific and medical foundation acceptance and usage of Teva TA-specific products as well as maintaining key strategic relationships with influential external experts nationwide. The incumbent will be charged with contributing to the development of a rigorous scientific and medical foundation for acceptance and usage of Teva TA-specific product(s) in NA. S/he supports the outlined integrated strategic planning for the assigned medicines within Medical Affairs and works for the plan’s implementation with strategic partners both externally and internally including Commercial, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Scientific Communications, Clinical Medical Education and ISS/Collaborative Research departments.

Medical Strategy/Projects (60%)

  • Contribute to the development of and execution of medical strategy and implement key initiatives which would align with the objectives of TA and Brand.
  • Contribute to the Annual Medical Operating Planning process, design of Phase IV and collaborative clinical studies, production of the medical section of the brand plan, in collaboration with other cross-functional teams Participates in the clinical proposal decision processes, including review of proposals and protocols of studies, supporting R&D, operational and HEOR teams.
  • Work with other Medical Team members to develop educational assets for utilization at congresses or via field medical affairs.
  • Serves as an internal medical/scientific resource to Teva product supporting US Field MA (MSL and MOL teams), Scientific Communications and Publication teams, HEOR, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development, Training, Copy Approval, Project Teams, Clinical and Commercial functions.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Medical Director, oversees and manages projects with medical and scientific personnel and systems, provides organizationally aligned medical and scientific services, serves as the medical and scientific resource for all inquiries requesting a Medical Director opinion.
  • Contributes to- agenda and content development and leads Medical Advisory Boards for the respective respiratory TA products and indications.
  • Ensures medical and scientific accuracy in publication planning process, including review of abstracts, posters, manuscripts for publication and scientific symposia presentations
  • Builds advocate relationships and partnerships with key opinion leaders, scientific experts and centers of academic excellence in the NAMA Respiratory (Asthma and COPD) external expert community.
  • Serve as an internal medical expert for medical launch management, product and disease-related content, product labeling

National Field Expert Liaison (40%)

  • Establish, maintain, and manage scientifically collaborative relationships with national and regional thought leaders and other HCPs in therapeutic areas of interest to Teva by proactively conducting scientific exchanges in a fair and balanced manner.
  • Serve as a local medical and scientific resource for the medical community and internal stakeholders in therapeutic areas of interest to Teva including responding to medical information requests, delivering medical education presentations, providing clinical trial support (corporate- and investigator-sponsored), attending congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and internally-driven activities where scientific support is appropriate.
  • Gather and report medical insights and competitive intelligence relevant to therapeutic areas of interest to Teva.
  • Execute medical strategies and initiatives across supported therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Scientific Experience - MD preferred, PhD, PharmD, DO considered,
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development roles.
  • Additional clinical and/or industry experience especially in specific TA preferred.
  • Required familiarity with and/or basic experience in the clinical drug development, regulatory processes, designing and conducting clinical trials preferred.
  • Must be familiar with HEOR as it applies to achieving strategic business goals within his/her scope of work
