Glimpse Into the Job
The UAS Test Officer, under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Operations, Test and Evaluation, directs developmental and operational test activities supporting contracted clients and UAS operations. Leads interactions with stakeholders in the planning and delivery of test operations. Coordinates project plans including implementing operational requirements and constraints, developing test cards and artifacts, tracking schedules and deliverables, coordinating ranges, and providing periodic status reports for projects that are generally large in scope.
Responsibilities of the Job:
Program Management Support
Direct test operations activities supporting client requirements and UAS operations per product testing standards.
Plan, coordinate, and lead period project meetings with stakeholders to coordinate test related activities.
Decides the methods and procedures required to effectively test for technical performance, properties, design characteristics, reliability, and maintainability of systems/materiel and major subsystems to assure that items meet performance or other requirements.
Operations Support
Serves as test team leader and directs the activities of engineers and technicians assigned to the test team.
Develops and implements test methodologies, instrumentation, data management, and statistical methods required to create posttest analysis.
Monitors the subtests being performed either directly or through assigned personnel, to ensure compliance with the approved plan of the test.
Integrates the results of the various subtests performed into the final formal report on the project.
Administration and Support
Supervise staff and/or student workers as assigned.
Develop new testing policies and procedures.
Establish and supervise quality control/quality assurance of testing within the office.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Research or related STEM field.
Seven (7) years of related experience in planning and coordinating complex operations.
Additional education/experience may be used as a substitution for the minimum requirements.
High School diploma or GED, and eleven (11) years of related experience.
Associates degree and nine (9) years of related experience.
Masters degree and five (5) years of related experience.
Intermediate skills in the use of MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work effectively with internal and external executive level clients.
What they Would Like to See:
24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
DoD Test Officer Certification
Experience planning and coordinating medium to large scale projects ($100K to multimillion dollar projects).
Expert use of MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Knowledge of project management software tools and applications such as Gannt charts, checklists, stakeholder management tools, budget trackers, and risk management tools.
Professional operations research knowledge to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems, process and/or operational problems and procedures.
Experience in test methodologies, instrumentation, data management, and statistical methods required to create posttest analysis and reports.
Salary:
Up to $6,666.67 monthly ($80,000 annually)
