The IT Professional II, stationed in the Coke building, functions as the IT logistics, procurement, IT inventory control and records retention expert for the college. The IT Professional II coordinates and manages the workstation refreshment programs, software licensing, equipment relocation documentation and policy guidance college wide.

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of related experience in IT purchasing and/or asset management experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of FAMIS/Canopy, TAMU AggieBuy and HUB requirements and vendor contracts.
Responsibilities:
Procurement
- Coordinates and manages workstation refreshment programs.
- Purchases all items of supported IT equipment.
- Purchases all items of supported software.
- Liaises with vendors to secure savings and efficiency.
- Liaises with Texas A&M Division and System entities related to software and services.
- Guides faculty, staff and student purchasing to maintain policy and standards compliance.
- Researches trusted equipment trends for classroom technology.
- Prepares specifications for purchases of hardware and software upgrades.
Distribution and Assessment
- Prepares and delivers equipment to IT professionals.
- Assesses departmental inventory for aging equipment and works with IT professionals to address.
- Arranges surplus collection.
- Assesses classroom technology with IT professionals to maintain modern equipment, optimal performance, and security.
- Provides limited administration responsibility for a basic software products or systems.
Documentation and Records
- Assist with departmental Inventory control and asset tracking.
- Execute changes in Canopy as per digital equipment relocation forms.
- Maintain records of equipment relocation, purchased software, renewals.
- Maintain lists of software that must be renewed.
- Prepare helpful documentation relating to area specific nuances.
- Research emerging technologies, best practices and common issues and communicate to colleagues.
- Serves as a resource for internal and external customers.
Oversight
- Directs the efforts of an individual
Training and Development
- Participate in training and professional development sessions when necessary, including attending College IT meetings and appropriate University forums (e.g., IT Forum).
- Other Duties as assigned.
