Job description

Your Role
The Security Alarm Technician will be responsible for assisting a team or self-installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and testing commercial security, access control, and surveillance systems in new builds or on retrofit projects. The security alarm technician will assist a team or self-install and terminate cabling infrastructure. They will be capable of using blueprints and schematics to determine cable paths and other details critical to a successful installation. The technician may also perform provisioning and commissioning of network-based system components such as IP cameras and network switches.
Qualifications
- A current state of Texas Security License or the ability to quickly attain one.
- Ability to effectively maintain working relationships in a team environment.
- Read and understand wiring schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Detailed knowledge of security and access control hardware and cabling installations.
- Working knowledge of security, surveillance, and access control software applications and routine tasks such as addressing and focusing IP cameras.
- Knowledgeable with specific product lines and programming experience a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards/ practices.
- Computer Literate
