Job Summary
We are searching for a Medical Assistant -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide patient care and excellent customer service in the ambulatory setting. You will also assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrates positive and effective interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills
- Collaborates with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Provides high quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with clinicians and in conjunction with the patient/family
- Collects and processes specimen according to manufacturer instructions and using proper technique
- Completes check out for patients and families
- Monitors patient flow and fills in or assigns staff as necessary to avoid bottleneck and assure minimal patient wait and alone time
- Ensures proper environment of care by observing and enforcing infection control policies in administering care, and promoting safety of all patients and personnel
Qualifications
- Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
- College degree preferred
- CCMA, CMA-AAM, CMA-C, EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LIC PAR, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA-AAH, RMA-AAMP, RMA-AMT, or RMA-ARMA certification required
- 2 years related experience required
- Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service-focused industry preferred
- Outpatient clinic operations experience preferred
