TDT - Delivery Assistant

Texas Door & Trim is currently hiring for a Driver Assistant in Dallas, TX!!

Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, this position is responsible for assisting the delivery driver in safely loading and loading millwork items, windows and other building material products to and from jobsites, businesses and other designated locations. This position also assists the delivery driver in customer service aspects pertaining to products and assists the driver in parking/maneuvering the truck when applicable. The Delivery Driver Assistant is required to pull stock and assemble material for delivery to customer locations, pack and/or palletize merchandise, and load inventory.

Essential Functions:

1. Assists in loading and unloading product.

2. Works with the driver to properly load/unload product at the designated location; jobsite, business, residence.

3. Acts as spotter whilst assisting the driver when reversing/navigating throughout the delivery.

4. Assists the driver throughout the shift with vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.

5. Assists in securing loads to avoid damaged product and/or unsafe conditions.

6. Performs all job duties adhering to company policies and procedures.

7. Maintains communication between management, drivers and customers providing exceptional customer service

8. Verifies incoming freight item count with packing list and checks for damage

9. Racks and stores product in an organized and safe manner

10. Hand stacks, palletizes, and properly packs merchandise for safe and secure shipment

11. Completes proper paperwork to verify loading and submits to the Warehouse Manager

12. Operates lift gate (when applicable)

13. Works overtime as needed

14. Attends safety meetings

Education and Work Experience:

Experience in warehouse/material handling experience preferred.

Licensing/Certification:

Valid driver’s license.
