Director, Field Services

To provide leadership and coordination in the development and delivery of quality Field Services to meet the needs of Region 16 Education Service Center (ESC) clients. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Texas Teacher Certification required Master’s Degree required Texas Principal Certification required Texas Superintendent Certification required Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Physical Demands: Successful Principal and Superintendent experience required Strong working knowledge of school finance and operations Recognized by peers as a competent, successful educator with an emphasis on instructional leadership Demonstrates educational leadership can be transferred to campus principals and Superintendents through coaching and mentoring Evidence of exceptional written and oral communication skills A drive to be of service to others by establishing bonds with clients and providing accurate information Major Responsibilities and Duties: Provides board training and is a certified EISO trainer. Supervises and manages the Superintendent Leadership Development, School Business Services, Certification, Direct Services, School Health and Child/Adult Nutrition Programs, IMS/TSDS Program, Transportation, School Board Training, School Safety, and Field Services. stablishes communication linkages with each district superintendent and other district and campus personnel as determined through consultation with superintendents. Provide up-to-date information to district/campus personnel regarding developments initiatives, and priorities at the state level. This communication comes in the form of multiple avenues, including weekly superintendent hot-topic Zoom meetings. Coordinates and communicates with ESC personnel to stay informed of programs and services the ESC is providing to districts/campuses. Markets ESC programs and services to district and campus personnel to ensure awareness of all opportunities available. Assists and supports district and campus leadership in identifying needs and responding with appropriate ESC services. Serves as a liaison to obtain information from the state level to clarify and/or address questions arising at the district/campus level. Serves as a liaison between Region 16, superintendents, and the Texas School Finance Center (TSFC) to ensure smooth operations with school business services and financial outlook. Assists district/campus personnel in improving student performance. Facilitates and coordinates programs/workshops for central office administrators and campus administrators to develop leadership skills, including, Superintendent Retreats, TPESS, School Board Training, Alternative Certification, administrator appraisal, PSLA, SLS, PAASB, and TASA’s Superintendent Mentor Program. Assists with the delivery and technical assistance of TTESS, AEL, and Instructional Leadership Initiatives. Facilitates and coordinates services for the driver’s education and school bus driver training program Assists with the coordination of Superintendent Searches in Region assists and supports charter schools in Region 16. Assists with the facilitation of the alternative education programs through Region 4. Participates in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of job description responsibilities. Serves as a certification liaison for districts with state certification agencies. Assists districts with reporting requirements Provides support in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). This includes working alongside districts with TIA, strategic staffing, and strategic compensation. Assists districts with strategic planning. Provides strategic finance training with bonds, VATREs, etc. Work with Alternative Certification and Educator Prep Program in the region.
