What are the responsibilities and job description for the Word Processing Administrator position at Texas Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company?
This position is responsible for administering the Word Processing unit, and ensuring the services provided to policyholders are consistent with the goals and objectives of the company.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Oversee the work of employees within the Word Processing area to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, proper procedures, training and correcting errors or problems, as necessary.
Evaluate Word Processing area employees’ job performance and conformance to requirements.
Interview, select and train employees for the Word Processing area.
Complete special assignments as requested by the Claims Administration Manager.
Develop and maintain work procedures for all systems and duties within the Word Processing area.
Prepare, recommend, implement, and enforce an annual budget for the Word Processing area.
Advise the Claims Administration Manager of any complaints or correspondence involving the State Board of Insurance or any other board as it relates to Claims.
Analyze and recommend changes to procedures, forms, or systems as appropriate to improve service efficiency.
Inventory, maintain, and control all equipment and supplies for the Word Processing area.
Assign and schedule workload within the Word Processing area.
Approve timecards, check requisitions, and supply requisitions for the Word Processing area.
Manage the Claims survey letter program, including sending out survey letters to insureds, documenting their feedback, and submitting a report to the Vice President of Claims.
Act as a contributor to the Claims SharePoint page.
Comply with the Certified Fleet Operator requirements of the Company Driving and Safety Policy.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Education and experience that meets one of the following:
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
High school diploma or GED with insurance specific proof-reading and transcription experience.
Ability to type 50 WPM with a maximum of 5-7% errors.
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening of math, reading, and writing skills.
Ability to effectively answer all Word Processing unit-related questions and troubleshoot all Word Processing-related problems.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Word Processing equipment and processes.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Effective knowledge of basic computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective interpersonal verbal skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
Ability to plan, organize, and complete detailed work independently or in a team environment.
Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation, or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator Status, under the company Driving and Safety Policy.
