Work hours: PRN; Clinic Hours 0800-1630

Here's What You Need
- Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required
- Wound care experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a hospital setting a plus
- LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and
- BCLS - Basic Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do
Plan of Care, Technical Skills:
- Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
- Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
- Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.
- Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
- Uses nursing model to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
- Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population.
- Performs technical procedures safely, proficiently.
- Demonstrates critical thinking.
- Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.
- Monitor's patients.
Personal Accountability:
- Identifies realistic and measurable annual goals for professional nursing development.
- Serves as patient advocate.
- Complies with personnel policies, i.e., attendance policies, ID badge, dress code, LVN Scope of Practice.
- Communicates per department expectations.
- Recognizes and promptly communicates ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication.
- Takes responsibility in continuing to develop own professional nursing knowledge and skills.
- Reports unsafe conditions and equipment in proper/timely manner.
Partnership:
- Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
- Actively participates in formal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence of self and team members.
- Uses Unit Based Council structure.
- Flexible with scheduling to help meet departmental/patient needs.
- Adapts to changes in workload assignment to meet changing needs of the individual patient or the unit.
Continuous Improvement:
- Assists in the identification of ineffective and costly processes and takes action to improve those processes.
- In collaboration with RN incorporates evidence-based practice and research to monitor and continuously impact outcomes.
- Actively participates in unit-based programs.
