Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Practitioner Provider to join our team! This position will support the Fort Worth location .

What does the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position do?
Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
- Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
- Performs procedures and /mentors trains other providers
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
- Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- In-depth knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Often provides case management for patients and their families.
- Often serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
- Provides palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
- As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education
- Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hours calls
- Serves as subject matter expert to the community, providing education and resources as needed
- Likely to supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.
- May serve in practice or network-wide APP leadership role
- May precept APP students
- Mentors new advanced practice providers.
- Other duties as assigned
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- This position typically requires a minimum of 6 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty.
- RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
- AOCNP preferred.
- Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
