HSE Specialist

Job Summary:

The Specialist, HSE position reports to the Director, HSE & DOT Compliance and is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of HSE related programs, policies, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive on-site safety and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all regulatory and company HSE policies and procedures, including but not limited to daily well-site inspections, DOT vehicle inspections, pre-start safety reviews (PSSR), etc.
• Provide HSE support, coaching, and training at all levels, including promoting Company’s commitment to a 24/7 safety culture for all workers
• Provide detailed reporting of inspections, observations, and incident investigations
• Ensure compliance with a system for collecting, storing, analyzing, tracking, and reporting HSE & DOT performance data (Incident report findings, audit actions, etc.)
• Identify and interpret regulatory standards that impact operational exposures; coordinate with HSE leadership to provide recommendations and guidance to operations management
• Respond to and investigate incidents involving company personnel, equipment, or contractors
• Facilitate employee drug/alcohol testing requirements as directed by company policy
• Aid with functional work assessments, occupation injuries, Worker’s Compensation claims, and any other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Sciences, or related fields preferred
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
• Working knowledge of safety requirements, including OSHA and DOT regulations, preferred
• Frequent travel to various company sites required
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, keen to detail, and team-oriented.

Experience:

• Oil & Gas: 1 year (Preferred)
• HSE: 1 year (Preferred)
