What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Coordinator position at Texas Star Dental?
We are a busy fast-paced private practice located in Vintage Park (249 and Louetta) currently seeking an exceptional Billing Coordinator with an excellent work ethic and a passion for dentistry, to join our team.
Our ideal candidate will possess high organization skills and bring great attention to detail. This position will be vital to safeguarding our revenues and ensuring a consistent cash flow. The goal will be to consistently receive payments from pending claims and patient balances and maintain a collections goal of 98%-100% per month. Our billing coordinator must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to facilitate financial arrangements and overcome patient objections when collecting balances. Must be professional, have a passion for learning and continuous growth.
You must be a self-starter and be able to receive constructive criticism. We are seeking someone who is confident with a "Go-Getter" type of personality, ready to take on a challenge and contribute to meeting our office goals.
Duties for our Billing Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Entering insurance payments and EOBS
- Setting up payment arrangements and maintaining our monthly orthodontic payment plans.
- Appeal denied claims by submitting documentation and strong narratives in a timely manner
- Billing consistently and running aging reports
- Balancing accounts
- Maintaining up to date insurance fee schedules
- Knowledgeable with billing and coding and insurance terminology. Must be able to send daily claims with attachments and narratives.
- Must utilize our in-office and third party financial arrangements to facilitate treatment case acceptance.
- Must have an overall understanding of how financial productivity affects the business as a whole. Understand math and know how to calculate patient out of pocket amounts when presenting treatment options.
- Must utilize strong communication skills and have the ability to explain, present, and educate the patient on various dental procedures. Such as, crowns, bridges, fillings, orthodontics, periodontal treatment, implant treatment and much more!
- Must have the ability to demonstrate confidence and great verbiage when collecting balances, daily over the counter collections and setting up financial arrangements.
- Ability to maintain great patient rapport, follow up and deliver great customer service!
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of recent dental experience required
- Dentrix experience preferred and ability to read the ledger
- Knowledgeable with Dental/Medical terminology and Insurance Terminology
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a PLUS!
- Experience in Dental Assisting a PLUS!

Pay is COMPETITIVE, depending on experience. Several working interviews are required as part of the interviewing process for this position.
