Project Coordinator - Office of Research & Sponsored Programs (Résumé and Cover Letter Required)
JOB SUMMARY
Performs coordinative work in day-to-day operations in order to develop and implement projects. As the primary administrative support for the Vice Provost for Research, Innovation, and Corporate Engagement, the incumbent maintains schedules, arranges travel, orders supplies, organizes central office files, and generally supports activities of the Vice Provost and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Additional duties include assisting the Director of Operations and operations team on financial transactions such as purchasing, travel, initial review of payroll summaries and expense verifications on internal and external grants managed by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Areas of concern include project development, financial management and administration, consultation operations, and planning. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Department Head or Supervisor
Supervises: May supervise Student Assistants
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
- Monitors activities of projects to assure that policies and guidelines are observed.
- Maintains calendars and schedules for the Vice Provost.
- Arranges and reconciles travel for Vice Provost.
- Collects project data for special reports.
- Supports budgeting.
- Tracks expenditures.
- Handles purchasing, travel, and operational expenses for ORSP.
- Provides guidance to TWU faculty on funding program applications and grant management.
- Provides administrative support.
- Develops and maintains an effective record keeping procedure.
- Ensures that support services are provided to the program and community.
- Observes work and safety rules.
- Monitors activities of projects to assure that policies and guidelines are observed.
- Collects and compiles reports as directed, including evaluations from campus visits.
- Maintains good public relations.
- Anticipates needs of the project and develops recommendations for filling these needs.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Supports the Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium including program development, room arrangements, ordering, etc.
- Assists with reports required by federal agencies, THECB, and TWU faculty, departments, or administrative units.
- Performs other duties as requested.

Education
Bachelor's degree in area generally related to project content or assigned responsibilities, preferred.
Experience
Two years experience in generally related area.
Requirements
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
