Summary of Major Functions:
Responsible for administrative functions related to the day to day operations to include phone response; management of email and fax communications; coordination and recordkeeping of organizational meetings including but not limited to Office Manager, Board and General Participants meetings and contract negotiations; manages Texoma Independent Physicians (TIP) administrative tasks in support of the organization to include dues assessment, survey facilitation (patient satisfaction surveys, member satisfaction surveys, etc.) and claims and EOB review including secondary audits as assigned. Assists with the revenue cycle management for affiliated TIP physicians and professional members as related to contract linkage and claims denials/appeals. Serves as an assistant to the President, Board and/or Manager for TIP related activities to include but not limited to Board of Director Activities, Quality Assurance Programs, Service and Membership Programs.
I. Position Requirements
A. High school diploma or GED;
B. A least six years of experience with four years directly related to healthcare environment. A higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis, up to two years.
C. Physical: May require sitting or standing for long periods as well as stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. May require lifting 30-50 pounds. Vision must be correctable to 20-20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone work. Will require work before and after normal business hours.
D. Complexity of Duties: Administrative duties with moderate complexity involving judgement, interpersonal relations, time management, integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
A. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of proper telephone communication and courteous phone etiquette.
B. Program planning and implementation skills.
C. Database management skills including querying, reporting, and document generation.
D. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
E. Must have and maintain excellent skills in word processing, internet technology, office machines and database programs and maintains orderly, detailed and current records, database programs and filing systems.
F. Time management including scheduling, reminders, multitasking and timely completion of tasks.
G. Informational research skills.
H. Ability to use independent judgment to manage and impart confidential information.
I. Knowledge of medical billing procedures and standards. (Coding knowledge including CPT and ICD10, Billing Compliance, Auditing Skills, Organizational Policy and Procedures)
J. Ability to analyze, interpret and draw inferences from research findings and prepare reports.
K. Must maintain excellent organizational skills and maintain functioning documentation systems.
