Commercial Landscape - Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage ‘Invest’ and ‘Enhance’ client interactions and expectations surrounding long term planning and high-level value-added services. Responsible for client retention, annual increases, and enhancement penetration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Horticulture, Construction/Project Management, or related field

Experience

• At least 5 years related work experience
• Extensive knowledge of regional plant life

Field Experience

• Minimum 3 years of verifiable field experience with project estimating or design-build work
• Strong estimation background, with working knowledge of construction/installation & irrigation
• Familiar with commercial landscape equipment and their functions

License or Certification

• As required by state and federal law
• Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
• PMP preferred

Specialized Skills

• Strong customer service skills, with internal and external clients
• Effective oral and written communication
• Advanced knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, document management, and cost forecasting
• Ability to read and interpret constructions plans/drawings
• Experience working the commercial property managers, vendors, consultants and architects a plus
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines
• Organizational skills

• Intermediate to advanced understanding of SalesForce, Microsoft Office Suite, and Project Management Software
• Intermediate to advanced experience using design software, including Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and ProLandscape

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram and/or schedule format
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Ability to speak effectively before employees and clients

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Serve as point-of-contact for high level site and project issues to expeditiously and proactively identify, address, and resolve client needs
2. Act as liaison between operations and client, ensuring clarity in communication and expectations
3. Conduct walkthroughs with client and other company representatives as appropriate
4. Evaluate accounts and develop an effective and on-going landscape asset management plan
5. Build a strong knowledge base of each client’s business, organization, and objectives
6. Collaborate with Area Managers to maintain a holistic understanding of ‘Invest’ and ‘Enhance’ client sites
7. Stay up-to-date on day-to-day site operations and issues to identify trends in need of comprehensive solutions
8. Create, manage, and control scope of work, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
9. Manage all project communication between internal and external clients
10. Analyze and understand job cost reports and budget variances related to contract projects
11. Prepare monthly forecast of labor and materials, and accurate job costing of work orders
12. Meet or exceed annual sales goals
13. Gather, calculate and compile take off data for use in bid estimate
14. Accurately prepare bids and landscape designs & renderings, by utilizing field collected data and compute programs, to present to client
15. Visit jobs in progress to relate actual estimate; review questions or problems that may arise
16. Manage billing process, including communicating change orders, lien releases, progress billing, etc.
17. Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with vendors and subcontractors, insuring accountability and quality for price
18. Ensure safety on every project by enforcing safety training and meetings, as well as consistently monitor job sites for potential safety hazards
19. Constantly promote and encourage adherence to company policies and best practices
20. Seek opportunities for continuous improvement of project management, technical and communication skill
21. Other duties as assigned
