Software System Engineer:
Senior software engineer position for Bell's Aircrew Training Devices team to develop simulators for our US Military customers. Senior engineer will work closely with Integrated Product Team lead (IPT) and be an integral part of the overall IPT structure, working closely with customer and major simulator suppliers. Position requires good communication and presentation skills for major program milestone reviews. Position requires solid systems engineering skills that can develop requirements and decompose into design. Full software lifecycle development will be required from requirements through to product acceptance. Software development skill sets must include experience in real-time, Inter-process communication (IPC), Linux/Unix OS and systems integration methods. Position requires candidate to take the product from requirements development through pilot acceptance of the simulators under guidance of the IPT lead.
Position Responsibilities:
- Real-Time software development of simulation models (Avionics, HLA, DIS Math Models)
- Present at milestone reviews
- Develop data interfaces for Avionics, Ethernet and Serial protocols
- Be able to analyze and resolve complex systems integration issues
- Develop system requirements
- Provide Configuration Management for developed software
- Full Software lifecycle development - requirements, coding, integration and acceptance program phases.
- Follow Systems Engineering development processes
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical (STEM) degree.
- Master of Science degree desirable
Position Requirements:
- Experienced with Real-Time Simulation model development and interface messaging constructs found in Ethernet, Avionics (1553, 429) and Serial (RS-232, RS-422) protocols preferred.
- Experience with containerized software highly desired
- Requires C, C , JAVA with FORTRAN and ADA a plus
- Linux/Unix development environment
- MS-Office with LABView experience a plus
- Usage of Software Configuration Management tools
- Systems Engineering background desirable
- Ability to travel at least 30% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
