Laborer Field Operations

JOB SUMMARY:

Assists foreman, superintendent, skilled craft workers, and field engineers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Digging, spreading and leveling dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel, or rake

· Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies

· Operate a vibrator, pressure washer, hose, or Jumping Jack

· Cut trees and brush in clearing of land

· Lay pipe

· Grout rip rap

· Grade checking

· Duties to be added as skills and abilities increase. This may include: power tools, plate tampers, jack hammers, hammer drills, fence erectors, install concrete blankets, demo saws, cutting torch for sheet pile, t-post driver, set up heater hoses for grout, winterize all water pumps and hoses.

· Organize and clean tool trailer and Conex on jobs

· When not performing the above-mentioned essential duties and responsibilities, will assist in other operations as designated by supervisor

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Understands both verbal and written communications

· Must be able to meet all safety requirements of the position

· Must show up with all proper PPE for the task at hand on daily basis

· A valid driver’s license is required

· Will be required to work away from home based upon project and site

· Will be required to commute to project sites

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School graduate, or GED preferred

· 2 years’ experience working in a construction or similar work trade is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Will stand, walk, kneel, crouch and stoop frequently on uneven surfaces

· Will perform work in outside weather conditions

· Will work with and around mechanical parts and equipment

· Will be required to shovel for long periods of time

· Occasionally will be required to reach with hands and arms

· Occasionally will lift and/or move 75#, including overhead

· Must be able to work at elevations in excess of 8,500’ with or w/o reasonable accommodation

· Infrequently will hold 30-50# item below waist for 3-5 minutes

· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

· Work in harsh weather conditions at times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
