Principal Duty
A Controls Project Manager I is responsible for leading a team of professionals in completing projects by a set deadline to uphold business initiatives. They will be responsible for planning and delivering projects of medium to large size and complexity, developing budgets hands-on, and providing leadership to the project team. Their duties include monitoring and controlling the budget for the project and advocating for additional funding when necessary, contracting professionals, or selecting project team members from existing departments, and setting, or adjusting, project schedules to adhere to deadlines. Additionally, they will allocate project resources with the assistance of a Team Lead, establish subcontract agreements, monitor for contractual risk mitigations as it adheres to the stakeholders, and ensure delivery of controls systems that meets, or exceeds, TGW quality standards and processes.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Manages projects through the entirety of the project life cycle
Oversees small projects, or phases of a larger project, with a budget up to $5M
Develop Request for Quote/Proposal (RFQ/RFP) for contracting Electrical Installation Contractors and Controls Engineering
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines within scope
Work closely with Program Managers, Controls Engineers, and cross-functional teams to plan and drive the execution of engineering activities
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Prepare a budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements
Monitor and control the budget for the project and advocate for additional funding when necessary
Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
Operate as a key member of the Change Control Board when analyzing and/or submitting Change Requests
Monitor and analyze project metrics to identify weaknesses or problems and to propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects
Manages all Controls Department team members allocated to the project
Coordinate with all Functional Project Managers to ensure a functioning cross-departmental schedule and testing plan is developed
Oversee and assist in the development of all Test Plans and Reports involving the Controls Project Team
Ability to acquire OSHA 10 Certification within first 6 months
Requirements Profile
Bachelor's Degree in the engineering field of study preferred, or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of electronic, electrical, and automation engineering
Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
Proven working experience in project management

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Experience working directly with clients on business development as well as project management, requiring credible negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience with project management software tools (Visio, MS Project, etc.)
