This position will perform Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) and Technical Book Management to the EVA Development Office in support of the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP) at NASA JSC
This position will be a hybrid work model and offer partially remote with some onsite work required at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas
What You'll Be Doing- Provide support and expertise in planning, tailoring, managing, executing, and documenting Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and/or complete the definition, flow-down, assessment, and/or documentation of project requirements, interfaces, and verifications.
- Lead and/or implement SE&I centric activities for a project that may include, but not limited to: Architecture definition and functional flows, lifecycle review planning, trade studies, critical path management, and/or risk management.
- Develop, evaluate, and/or lead the SE&I processes of the project office to ensure they are functioning properly, effectively integrated within the team, and evolve the system through the project lifecycle.
- Develop and/or manage team collaboration strategies to ensure effective and efficient systems engineering and technical integration in concert with internal, external, and/or international organizations.
- Implement effective and streamlined use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques.
- Guide the customer, Project Manager, and/or Lead Systems Engineer on Systems Engineering strategies and the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches as they apply to the EVA Development project office.
- Provide regular status to customers and management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science
- Minimum of 5 or more years of increasingly responsible and related engineering/scientific experience
- Experience in the NASA project lifecycle and SE&I
- Ability to optimally use oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Experience with leading discussions and conflict resolution on multi-discipline engineering teams
- Experience with defining EVA con ops, architecture, requirements, and verification
- DOORS Next Generation (DNG) and MagicDraw (or similar) experien
