Job Summary The National Systems Group serves as the technical adviser to the National Reconnaissance Office and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch. The Mission Assurance Senior Project Engineer provides on-site technical support for a major systems acquisition program within the Aerospace National Systems Group Imagery Programs Division, and is responsible for direct customer technical support for the application of Mission Assurance standards. In this opportunity the Senior Project Engineer will provide on-site technical support for a major systems acquisition program and be responsible for direct customer technical support for the application of Mission Assurance standards (both technical and programmatic) This position is located 100% on site in our El Segundo, CA offices What You’ll Be Doing Provide technical support for MA support across the program in all MA disciplines (Reliability, Quality, Environments, Manufacturing, Parts, Materials & Processes, WCCA, and specialty engineering such as EMI/EMC, survivability, radiation, and contamination) with an emphasis on Parts, Materials & Processes (PMP) to resolve and avoid issues Effectively guide Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group resources to meet program needs Formulate and present positions on technical issues and brief the customer on high interest topics concerning PMP Position requires travel to contractor and subcontractor sites This position provides opportunities for mid and advanced proficiency levels of Strategic, Innovation, Velocity, People, Accountability competencies What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements: Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent. At least 12 years of increasingly more responsible engineering or scientific experience Strong experience in the development of remote sensing systems and a background in PMP Mission Assurance processes and practices Experience with NRO space systems Technology experience base across payload and spacecraft bus sub-systems Experience base across parts qualification and screening processes Familiarity with parts acquisition & control board procedures, reliability, and anomaly detection and mitigation Experience with the use of MIL standards and how they are to be properly employed and tailored with respect to applicable manufacturing, screening and testing requirements Willingness to flex across multiple disciplines Ability to travel This position requires a current or active TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Broad technology experience base across payload and spacecraft bus sub-systems Broad Experience base across industry supply chain mission assurance activities and inspection techniques Experience in chairing Parts, Materials and Process Control Boards (PMPCB) Expertise and detailed understanding of appropriate government, military, and industry standards and their application at all levels of the supply chain Understanding of radiation hardness issues, manufacturing techniques, qualification, and screening, and uses of integrated circuits, including typical failure mechanisms and other problems Familiarity with the application of industry workmanship standards and parts quality Must be proactive, have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to employ corporate resources effectively to address customer study needs Must be able to communicate with a broad range of customers, technologists, program managers, system engineers, and senior government leaders Examples of your teamwork and ability to make connections across organizations Ways We Reward Our Employees During your interview process, our team will provide details of our industry-leading benefits.
