Summary: This is a regular full-time management position for which the ideal candidate must have strong leadership ability, including the development, education, and safety of others. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The position will require a willingness to work extra and/or irregular work hours and/or shift schedules on an as-needed basis. This position will support maintenance and site strategy by managing, tracking, and reporting site maintenance, work schedules, turbine and field repairs, and other work as required. Will be responsible for project capability, process efficiency, cost efficiency, project availability, quality standards, and any contractual obligations of the project or work area. Will analyze project performance and make recommendations to improve reliability, efficiency, and ultimately, the financial performance of the project. This position may be responsible for site safety, environmental, training and their respective programs, as needed. This person will also be responsible for managing the work of site technicians and any onsite contractors with their responsibilities directly. Candidate must have an advanced technical education or training with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in plant maintenance, operations, or any other technical field; or a high school diploma with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in maintenance/operations. The ideal candidate should have experience on Vestas wind turbines and systems, but other turbine Technologies is acceptable. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Perform (or cause to be performed) site maintenance, including without limitation: Be responsible for all operating activities; understand and ensure compliance with Site Service agreement. Responsible for AES and Contractor Safety programs and lead through example Plan and manage inspections, contractor work, BOP, and turbine repair. Substation and O&M yard Maintenance and testing activities and emergency trouble shooting and repairs. Manage O&M facilities maintenance and repair. Develop and prioritize job scopes for temporary labor. Work with and build relationships with project landowners. Attend daily POD meetings and monitor Service Provider work on site. Help support development and management of site budget. Strive to improve site reliability and strive for excellence! Facilitate activities related to the Full-Service Agreement including without limitation: Service calls for substation switching when requested to do so by the Plant Operator. Plan, Schedule and execute “extra work” as defined in the service agreement. Submit warranty claims as required. Perform QAQC’s Desired Skills, Expertise and Competencies: 5-10 years’ experience in plant maintenance, operations, or other related technical fields. Experience in Wind Generation a plus and experience on Vestas turbines is a significant advantage. O & M management skills. Strong computer skills. Understanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as helping the company improve upon the standards in place. Ability to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverse organization. Excellent hands-on abilities with strong technical skills. Ability to read, write and understand English. Demonstrates proactive enthusiasm for solving problems and adding value to the company. Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals. Models’ professional behaviors of conduct and decorum. Is a strong team player and willing to assist others when necessary and appropriate tasks. Education/Experience: Possess a high school diploma or GED. Advanced technical education, training, and/or higher education preferred. Equipment operator preferred. NERC NFPA 70E High voltage training and experience. Working Conditions Outdoor work at wind power plant that includes windy, dusty, high heat and/or cold temperatures, and severe winter or summer conditions. Driver’s License required. Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment. Requires use of personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, clothing, ear plugs, etc.) May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals. Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate. Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required. Occasional travel required. Compensation: Commensurate with experience; competitive.
