What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Systems Engineer position at The AMES Companies, Inc.?
WHO YOU ARE
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and support of IT services for the business, including; on premises network & server systems, cloud services & business applications. You will work with various technologies including; Cloud technologies such as Office365, Azure & AWS (SaaS, PaaS & IaaS), Windows Active Directory, Cisco & Meraki Network systems & scripting and automation tools like PowerShell and Power Automate. You will be responsible for assisting the business on its transition to cloud technologies and also identifying opportunities for automation to achieve more efficient service to the business.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK
This is a hybrid position, currently working from home Monday and Friday, in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Office is located at our head quarters in Lake Nona - Orlando, FL. Schedule is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Full time remote work is not currently available for this role.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Windows Server Infrastructure, including oversight of Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, File & Print Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Domain management and trusts.
- Assist in the adoption and migration of the organizations’ applications & infrastructure services into cloud hosted.
- Perform Administration of Office 365 Services, including Exchange, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 Groups, Power Apps & Automate, M365 Security and other Office 365 collaboration-focused applications.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure (On premises & Cloud).
- Integrate industry standard security, backup, and high availability practices.
- Perform technical analyses of software, hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient network operations.
- Work with vendors on evaluating new technology and solutions and resolving any incidents and problems with systems already in use.
- Coordinate multiple projects including implementation of new hardware and software as required.
- Provide support to end users on a variety of issues.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years’ experience in Windows Server Administration & Cloud Systems Management.
- Experience in implementing, managing, and monitoring Microsoft Azure environments.
- Experience with Managing Office 365 services like Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, and governance.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Solid analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
- Friendly enthusiastic self-starter and effective collaborator
- Reliable and willing to take on tasks as assigned
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSE, MS Azure Administrator Associate or MS Azure Solutions Architect preferred
- ITIL Certification or Understanding of ITIL methodologies preferred
- Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience preferred.
