Summary
Reporting directly to the Angelus Corporation Quality Inspection Supervisor, the Quality Inspector has the responsibility of performing inspection duties to ensure that the incoming products received from suppliers meet specification and requirements and specifications and the out-going products sold to our customers meet internal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspection of all different cable types including Coaxial, Triaxial, Databus, & Ethernet and other cables using the Angelus specifications
- Perform incoming inspection of connectors (bodies, contacts, & ferrules, etc.) to ensure they meet the Angelus requirements & supplier specifications
- Perform incoming inspection on any other parts received from a supplier ensuring the part meets the specification
- Inspect parts that were kitted by Manufacturing personnel to ensure accuracy & quantity of the items required per the product specification
- Process non-conforming product to include assisting with Material Review Board (MRB) and acquiring a corrective action if required
- Maintain control of all non-conforming products, ensuring their destruction and re-location into the designated quarantine area as required. Also manage the sorting and removal of such items as required.
- Process RMAs (Return Material Authorizations) from Angelus customers as required
- Perform FAIs (First Article Inspections) as required
- Perform final inspection on all assemblies manufactured by the Assembly Dept using the Angelus or customer specification
- Perform material movement (physically & electronically in the ERP) as required to support the inspectors duties
- Proactively identify and support implementation of process improvements as required

This position has no supervisory or management responsibilities.
Equipment Used
Personal computer, copier, calculator, analog & digital inspection gauges and tools, cable re-spooler, and forklift.

Other Considerations
Location: This position will be located at The Angelus Corporations facility in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
Travel: Travel is not a primary consideration to perform the duties of the position. Occasional travel may be required for personal development or other activities.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge and Skills
- Required: High School Diploma; Associate degree in related field a plus/preferred
- Required: Minimum 2-3 years related experience in Quality Inspection activities/roles
- Required: Able to read & interpret specifications (including complex drawings) to execute inspection requirements
- Required: Ability to use and understand various measurement equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Pin Gages, and more
- Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Required: Strong, professional English verbal & written communication skills
- Strongly Desired: AS9100 Aerospace Quality System experience
- Desired: AS9102 Aerospace First Article Inspection (FAI) Requirement experience
- Aptitude to take direction and execute tasks efficiently
- Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Demonstrated computer and mathematical knowledge

Each inspector will have to undergo a color blindness and near vision test on an annual basis.
Acceptable testing methods for color blindness include: Pseudoachromatic plates, Dvorine, Ishihara, Richmond, Farnsworth lantern, Keystone Orthoscope, Titmus vision test, Titmus II Vision Tester, Titmus 2 Vision Tester. Standard definitions of what pass/fail on these tests should be followed.
Acceptable testing method for near vision includes E eye examination chart or international equivalent, Snellen 14/18 or better, 20/25 or better, Jaeger type 1, Ortho-Rated 8 or equivalent method.
Any individual failing any of the passing criteria of the color vision or near vision testing defined above may not approve final acceptance of products.
Any individual failing any portion of the eye exam may take action to correct the vision problem and may repeat the eye examination. Individuals who, after taking action to correct a vision problem, and subsequently failing the exam 2 additional times (failed 3 times sequentially) may not repeat the test and may not approve products.
