What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at The Arc of Indian River County?
Job Summary: Provide morning and afternoon transportation for individuals with varied disabilities to and from their home in the Indian River County area. You will be required to drive a multi-passenger van or wheelchair van. You are not required to have a CDL license. This is a split shift from Monday through Friday (approximately 6:30am-8:30am and then 1:30pm-4:00pm depending on the route and will vary based on the needs of the assigned route).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for safety and welfare of riders and Arc vehicle.
2. Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
3. Prepare and maintain accurate rider attendance records.
4. Communicate with the transportation team on a regular basis.
5. Attend meetings/training as required.
6. Utilize a person-centered approach and positive reinforcement while working with customers.
7. Perform work in a confidential manner and in accordance with policies, rules, procedures, and applicable regulations.
8. Responsible for morning and afternoon transportation needs of individuals with varied disabilities; this is a split shift.
Essential Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
Lift 50 pounds
Must meet mobility criteria
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
TB Test
Must pass drug test
Local and Federal Background Checks
Must pass a Department of Transportation Physical
Will be required to pass CPR/FA
Qualifications:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities
Job Type: Part-time
