BASIC FUNCTIONS |

This position directs the staff and procedures of the Quality Assurance Department’s Technicians providing leadership and instruction in the implementation of programs, policies, and objectives to ensure corporate quality, culture, volume, service, and cost goals are met in Quality Assurance. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of Quality Assurance programs to include SPC programs, data analysis and report generation. This position in collaboration with the Sanitation Manager and leaders will ensure sanitation practices and procedures are being completed on all production shifts and during cleaning procedures that include but not limited to; equipment, food contact surfaces, and facility grounds according to FDA, State Regulations, OSHA, USDA, SQF, D.E.P/E.P.A., and company SOP standards. Responsibilities also include making decisions on product Quality Assurance standards and reviewing programs and processes to ensure compliance including but not limited to regulatory, GMP, organic, food safety, etc. Provides technical expertise and relevant training to Quality Assurance Technicians as required. Management Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

  • Supervises day to day QA function on two shifts, including training employees on QA policy and procedure. Provides leadership presence and performance direction on all three shifts.
  • Develops, maintains, and improves QA test methods, specifications, and programs.
  • Ensures that in-process and finished goods conform to in-house quality policies and procedures as well as all other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews programs, records, and product to ensure compliance.
  • Governs HACCP Program(s) to ensure compliance to CCP’s and corrective actions. Performs reviews, modifies and/or makes changes to the program if necessary.
  • Ensures that GMP’s, SOP’s, SSOP’s and quality standards are recognized, understood, and maintained throughout the Company.
  • Works across all disciplines to ensure the Company maintains a state of readiness for inspection by regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates and performs all vendor qualification and compliance audits.
  • Performs all tracking activities of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conducts mock recall program to ensure compliance.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Management and Plant Manager, acts as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to quality systems and/or certifications.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains a compliant document control system.
  • Generates, designs, and maintains reports, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data, communicate to Management and applicable departments. This also includes responsibility for Document Database Library.
  • Maintains FDA testing equipment and supplies.
  • Conducts inspections of processing facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory, GMP, food safety, all natural programs.
  • Maintain and assist in the documentation of product development and/or production testing.
  • Responsible for legal reviews for retail packaging.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager is also the contact for the new FSMA regulations and is certified in PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) for Human Food regulation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5-7 years quality and leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment – strong bakery & prepared meals experienced preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to follow procedures and ensure compliance to specifications.
  • SQF Practitioner a must
  • College Degree in Food Science Curriculum
  • HACCP, Food Safety and OSHA Certifications preferred.
  • Bilingual skills – Spanish is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $115,000.00 per year
