Overview
This position is responsible overseeing the day-to-day operations for the supply chain team.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops departmental staff
Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
Ensures buying team places orders on time, manage purchase orders, exception message and suppliers deliver parts on time
Monitor KPI’s for both supplier/vendor performance and staff performance.
Oversee management and execution of all exception messages to ensure supply stability within the production system
Prepare and present supply chain data as required
Resolve issues in the capacity of Supply Chain subject manner expert
Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Maintain production system integrity by ensuring Supply Chain Team updates ERP with current and accurate purchase order status, lead times, pricing, and vendor information.
Organization focal for the performance of vendors within assigned commodities.
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Monitor production capacity and proactively coordinate with Operations Supervisor offloading work as required
Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
Meet or exceed performance metrics related to on-time order placement and on-time delivery.
Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes
Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials
Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments
Ensure SOI inventory levels are above set minimums
Performs other related duties as assigned
Place and manage open purchase orders as required

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must have previous experience in Aerospace Supply Chain
Must be capable guiding and training staff
Must be able to make sound decisions quickly and independently
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges
Able to conduct detailed procedures in a time constrained environment.
Must have excellent organizational and project management skills
Must be able to function as subject matter expert and foster a team environment
Must be able to travel
Experienced in MS Office, MRP/ERP systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Work Environment:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Office and shop environment.
Eye and hearing protection necessary while working on shop floor.
Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in supply chain systems or equivalent experience; or five years related experience and/or training in aerospace manufacturing supply chain environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
