The Child and Family Advocate is responsible for providing parent education and support services to families for the purposes of reunification, prevention, and family preservation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
assessing family safety and reporting any concerns regarding the safety of children to supervisor immediately.
accepting referrals from the referral agency and scheduling families for services.
coordinating and facilitating meetings for each family accepted; which will include the family, referral source, and other family supports.
providing services to each referred family and completes appropriate parenting training curriculum.
collaborating with referral source to develop a plan in meeting program requirements and services provided for each client.
providing required documentation in accordance with program standards and contract obligations.
meeting with referral source personnel regularly to provide ongoing reports of the family’s progress.
facilitating monthly group meetings with community providers and families, as appropriate.
maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with clients and families.
asses family’s strengths and needs.
scheduling and coordinating visits and transportation of clients and families.
meeting with families to discuss goals, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
inputting information into the electronic data bases.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
Child welfare experience preferred.
