Overview:
Accountable for the management, training and performance of the stewarding department, working daily with all F&B departments to ensure that quality and service standards are met at The Ballantyne Hotel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conducts pre-shift meetings to inform staff of daily events; and duties for the day as well as coordinating breaks for your team
- Ensures sidework duties are complete the dish room and cafeteria are kept clean and neat
- Ensures the cleanliness of all F&B supplies and proper storage of them.
- Assists the purchasing department by checking supply levels of all products related to the department
- Monitors employee performance and ensures all procedures or tasks are completed to Ballantyne standards.
- Instructs employees in the proper performance of their duties.
- Provides recommendations for employee discipline, recognition and performance evaluation to support the career development of employees under their supervision.
- Notifies Chef of incident or conflicts that affect normal business operations or guest service.
- Responds quickly to guest, both internal and external, requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
- Coordinate and assist with banquet functions when needed.
- Set up for banquet team, buy pulling equipment prior to events
- Maintain the Off the Clock Café, by stocking and cleaning the buffet daily for each meal period. Continually assist in keeping the room neat and clean
- Follows company policies and procedures.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of food service supervisor experience. General knowledge of restaurant and or hotel operations. Some supervisory experience.
Certification and/or License Requirement: Alcohol awareness certification and/ or food service permit as required by local or state government agency. Food Service and/ or other certification as required by hotel.

Working Conditions:
