We are a leading staffing firm and our clients include some of the biggest companies in the nation. Our client has a need for a Assistant Buyer. This is a contract position; however it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Applicant must be eligible to work in the US for immediate opening. For this opportunity, the successful candidate will be directly employed by Bartech Staffing as a W2 employee while providing services to our end client.
Assistant Buyer
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Assistant Buyer will include:
  • Assist the buyer in purchasing productive and non-productive materials and services
  • Work independently with decisions made based on established policies and procedures.
  • Supervision available to handle unusual situations.
  • Maintains records of prices and terms negotiated with suppliers
  • Maintains listing of reliable suppliers
  • Responds to internal inquiries about vendors, price and availability of materials and tools
  • Confirms purchase orders to suppliers
  • Checks invoices
  • Follows up on negotiated settlements regarding rejected or defective materials
  • Advises supervision of unusual or questionable circumstances regarding source and availability of parts
  • Adheres to unit and Corporate purchasing policies and procedures
  • Frequent contact with others outside the work group
  • Work on parts not placed list for Buyer or Senior Buyer

Assistant Buyer
Job Requirements
As a Assistant Buyer you must represent our company well by being responsible, punctual and motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. You must also be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Intermediate level
  • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Intermediate level
  • Good interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally
  • Good written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
  • Partners with senior management to analyze and solve issues
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently
  • Ability to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
  • Knowledge of commodities, materials and products being purchase
  • Position related experience – 1-3 years
