Women's Department Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as the Women's Department Manager in our outdoor retail store, primarily focused on clothing. The Women's Department Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service, achieving sales targets, and maintaining a vibrant and organized department. Additionally, this role will involve community engagement and managing donations to support our store's involvement in the local outdoor community.

As a Women’s Department Manager, you will be responsible for::

Customer Service/Customer Relations:

• Provide outstanding customer service to ensure complete satisfaction, including prompt assistance, positive communication, and efficient service.
• Utilize creative selling techniques to enhance customer experience and meet sales goals.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with company standards.

Achieve Sales Goals and Profitability:

• Coordinate merchandise flow between receiving and the sales floor, collaborating with the General Manager and buyers.
• Assist buyers in adjusting orders, tracking goods, and determining markdowns.
• Coordinate in-store promotions to drive sales and profitability.

Training:

• Conduct new employee training on the register and on the sales floor and provide ongoing training in customer service.
• Schedule and coordinate training clinics with representatives and arrange an annual shoplifting clinic.
• Delegate new employee training responsibilities to senior staff members.

Merchandising:

• Support the Merchandising Manager in arranging and replenishing the sales floor with new inventory to captivate customers and drive sales through visual appeal.

Signage:

• Ensure all in-store signage is neat, clean, current, and professionally done.
• Oversee outdoor sign messages and schedule changes as needed.

Scheduling of Staff:

• Assist store manager in scheduling as needed.
• Arrange for replacements for absent staff and manage lunch schedules.

Community Engagement and Donations:

• Respond to donation requests from the community based on store policy and track requests.
• Engage in community events and initiatives to enhance the store's presence in the outdoor community.

• Maintain monthly goals and track individual performance.

Accountability to Store Maintenance:

• Oversee completion of special projects assigned by owners and store manager.
• Perform daily duties and share responsibilities in the absence of fellow employees.
• Monitor fixtures and inventory, ensuring store standards are maintained.

Qualifications:

• Previous retail management experience, preferably in the apparel sector.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to create a positive shopping experience.
• Ability to create and maintain thoughtful merchandising presentations consistent with company standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
• Desire to engage with the outdoor community and support store initiatives.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and retail software.
