Job Summary:
Caminos Nacional is a federal grant managed by the Board of Child Care (BCC) to provide services for children who enter the United States without a guardian. This population is commonly referred to as recently migrated youth. The grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Office of Refugee Resettlement
(ORR). The Bethlehem Center, in partnership with the BCC, will begin offering Caminos Nacional services in the
Chattanooga region in 2024 as a new, grant-funded program.
The Bilingual Case Manager for Home Study & Post Release (HS/PRS) specializes in culturally competent assessment and case management for recently immigrated unaccompanied children and their sponsors in the
United States. Responsibilities include conducting safety assessments of potential caregiver homes, facilitating post-release services to enhance youth integration and family reunification according to defined protocols. This role collaborates with the Board of Child Care to provide comprehensive services to youth and caregivers, promoting effective communication, psychoeducation, and connection to community resources across
Chattanooga and surrounding regions.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Home Study Services:
● Conduct comprehensive home studies, assessing safety and suitability for potential sponsors.
● Collaborate in psycho-educational processes with youth and sponsors for successful reunification.
● Prepare and educate prospective sponsors
● Provide the necessary reports
Post Release Services:
● Perform ongoing case management, addressing youth's needs in various defined domains.
● Facilitate youth and family care plans, ensuring measurable outcomes and safety plans.
● Conduct crisis intervention, case management meetings, and evaluate progress toward goals.
● Maintain adherence to contact requirements, documentation standards, and reporting deadlines
Overall Responsibilities:
● Gain an understanding and implement the Resource Access department’s trauma-informed model.
● Act as a primary contact for youth, family, sponsors, and external agencies.
● Follow documentation task protocols in a detailed, accurate, and deadline adherent manner
● Drive within a 200-mile radius and travel for homes beyond, actively participating in community efforts.
● Coordinate with community resources and maintain effective relationships.
● Demonstrate knowledge of policies, procedures, and cultural competence.
● Identify and communicate supervision or training needs.
● Participate in activities related to The Bethlehem Center as requested.

Requirements and Skills
Requirements:
● Fluency in Spanish and English in written and oral forms are required.
● Bachelor's degree in Social Work or other relevant degree, or equivalent experience.
● At least 1 year of experience with child welfare programs.
● Knowledge of community resources and the ability to connect families to community services.
● Excellent crisis intervention skills.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Critical assessment and analysis skills.
● Ability to follow prescribed protocols, complete required documentation timely, and meet all deadlines without exception.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
● Ability to travel and access to reliable personal transportation.
● Knowledge of and experience working with refugee or immigrant children preferred.
● Cross-cultural or international experience is preferred.
● Represent The Bethlehem Center with the ethics and behaviors expected from a respected non-profit organization
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
● Satisfactory completion of BCC Orientation and Training;
● Satisfactory completion of ORR required trainings prior to serving clients and on an annual basis; and
● Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.

● Stamina: Endurance to handle the demands of a fast-paced work environment, including long hours and potentially high-stress situations.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE
● Full-time - Monday through Friday from 9 am- 5:30 pm with occasional work on weekends
● Location is onsite with the ability to transition to a hybrid position as requested and approved.
● Anticipated starting salary is at $55,000
