Position Description:
The unit clerk provides clerical support to the nursing units, answers phones and other supportive clerical functions as needed.
The Units Secretary performs general secretarial typing and related clerical duties. Available to department directors, physicians and clinical staff as needed for administrative support. Strong organizational skills and internal drive and motivation are necessary for success in this position. Competitive pay commensurate with experience. Interpersonal skills, judgment, flexibility and commitment are essential to the positions, as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
Skill in using personal computer, Microsoft office software, email and scanning.
Skill in communicating effectively both verbally and in writings.
Skill in effectively using English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Skill in compiling data and preparing reports.
Ability to quickly grasp ideas, hospital and business issue policies.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
· Two years clerical experience, preferred
· Attention to details and organization skills are necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires work in temperature controlled environment; 80-90% of the time spent indoors.
- Must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential functions of this position, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. The position operates in a professional environment and routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and filing cabinets.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
