Nail Technician

Essential Functions

Job duties include, although are not limited to:

1. Maintain established resort and departmental policies, procedures, standards, and objectives.
2. Adhere to Club Rules & Regulations.
3. Maintain a cooperative and professional work relationship and team attitude with members, guests, and staff.
4. Adhere to industry code of ethics; shall not enter gainful employment with a member or guest (i.e., do not solicit or conduct personal business with a member or guest as a private client).
5. Deliver Forbes Five Star service standards and protocols as outlined within the Job Scope 100% of the time while scheduled.
6. Adhere to all resort guidelines and policies including but not limited to proper entrance and exit of the spa through the Associate entrance.

Operational Duties

1. Provide appropriate nail treatments based on the desire and health of the client.  Do not change type of treatment without consent of guest. Ensure guest is aware 100% of the time any price differentials and agrees to changes before substituting treatment type.
2. Provide professional nail treatments in accordance with industry practices, treatment protocols and consistent manner with the Spa.  Provide all guests with consistent services for up to an 8-hour period. 
3. Properly educate guest regarding salon treatment and recommend appropriate products for each service given and other salon and spa services.
4. Lead by example and be an effective role model for guests.
5. Exhibit proper use of product and abide by all product control guidelines while maintaining a clean and neat spa environment.
6. Respond to all member and guest concerns in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.  Respect guest confidentiality.
7. Greet and welcome all incoming and outgoing members, guests, and staff.
8. Exhibit proper use of product and abide by all product control guidelines while maintaining a clean and neat salon environment. Product used within the treatment should reflect 100% of what the published treatment’s protocol dictates.
9. Working quickly and accurately under pressure or under time constraints.
10. Adjusting technique, product, or pressure during service if the guest mentions they are not satisfied.
11. Read and adhere to schedule postings regarding shifts, and SpaSoft scheduling system.
12. Understand SpaSoft scheduling system, how to check notes, refresh screen, etc.
13. Be prompt for appointments and provide treatment within the appropriate time allowed.
14. Treatment times will be adhered to 100% of the time.  Start and end should reflect the published treatment timeframe and scheduled start time.
15. Maintain a clean environment according to Department of Health and departmental standards.
16. Perform daily and weekly maintenance duties as outlined in the job scope checklist.
17. Provide constructive, positive, and courteous feedback to spa leadership to ensure continual improvement within a Forbes Five Star setting.
18. Be aware of appearance.  Role requires polished, groomed appearance 100% of the time including appropriate cosmetic application and hairstyle reflecting a neat and professional image. 
19. Be aware of quality of work. Skillfully executed services and clean, well-organized stations throughout duration of the service, pre and post to align with Forbes Five Stars.
20. Promote Salon and Spa and all services, products, and programs.
21. Recommend all engineering work orders.
22. Dispose and stock linens according to linen procedures.
23. Working independently and with a team.
24. Follow all company policies.
25. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
26. Speak with others using clear and professional language.
27. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, and meetings.
28. Maintain current licensure.
29. Attend meetings as required.
30. Participate in training sessions as required.
31. Know emergency procedures of treatment areas.
32. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisors/managers.

Qualifications, Education/Experience Requirements

To successfully fulfill this position, the candidate must have High School Diploma (minimum) and licensure by the Department of Cosmetology.  Current certification from an approved school of Massage Therapy required.  CPR certification required.  Demonstrated competence in Nail services and polish application.  Excellent human relations skills; be able to communicate with the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.  Must be flexible and adapt easily.  Interested in health & wellness field.  Good interpersonal and organizational skills.  Must be flexible and adapt easily.  Interested in health & wellness field. To be able to sit, stand, stoop or bend for duration of shift [at least eight (8) hours].

Demonstrated competence in specialty treatments, 2-3 years previous experience as a licensed Nail Technician in a luxury environment, second language, experience in a resort or private club setting, and/or wellness-related field.

 Physical Requirements

Prolonged extensive standing/walking.  Heavy physical effort will be required on a regular basis.  Considerable reaching and pushing. Be able to lift/carry loads up to 40lbs.
