Controls TechnicianPosition Summary: Custom Deco in Toledo, OH is seeking a Controls Technician to help Install, modify, rebuild, repair and maintain, electronic and electrical equipment and controls.  Troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems throughout the facility for production equipment, building systems, and power controls. Work is to be performed in accordance with relevant codes and company requirements. A degree is NOT required for this position.    The associate will embody and execute our company core values within all day to day duties and responsibilities:    We work as a team, leveraging our collective strengths We are passionate, bringing resiliency, creativity and grit We do what’s right with honesty, respect and accountability We are reliable, through innovative and streamlined processes We have fun, celebrating successes and learning from failures We build relationships, helping our colleagues and customers thrive   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work on a variety of electrical equipment such as AC/DC motors (single, split, and three phase), starters, alternators, servo mechanisms, transformers, actuators, power control panels, instrument panels, inverters, drives, PLC’s and HMI’s. Diagnose malfunctioning systems and/or equipment, using hand tools, and test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, meggers, and other analyzers to test electrical characteristics. Troubleshoot complex systems of electronic sensing and control. Troubleshoot and setup analog, digital, and/or temperature, logic systems, and programmable logic-controlled equipment. Troubleshoot and remedy mechanical issues. Additional responsibilities may be added when necessary and qualified.     Job Skills / Requirements: Must be able to troubleshoot, test, repair and calibrate various electronics and other instruments. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings/schematics that include electrical and electronic components. Understand the operation of PLC's and be able to troubleshoot controls based on reading inputs and/or outputs.Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish the job.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturingAttention to detail and excellent communication skillsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and work simple electrical calculations. Must work for long periods of time with little or no supervision.Programming skills would be a plus  Education & Experience:Five years experience troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.  Requires a thorough knowledge of logic circuits, control circuits, and of complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.Knowledge of basic Microsoft Software. Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to use arms and legs, moving your whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping, and handling of materials. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
