Job Summary / Objective :
We are seeking an entry-level Parking Education and Enforcement Officer toeducatethe general public on how to use parking meters while enforcing parking ordinance violations within the Borough of Lansdale, PA.
The ideal candidate for this civilian, uniformed position is someone who has good community relations, communication skills, is trustworthy and responsible, while having a willingness to learn.
Essential Functions :
- Enforce parking ordinances and regulations, including meter, and permit parking, either on foot or in a municipal vehicle.
- Write and issue violation tickets manually or using an electronic / computerized device.
- Provide clear and courteous communication with the general public, customers, and staff, including answering questions and providing instructions on the use of parking meters.
- Work safely, recognizing potential hazards and adhering to safety protocols.
- Educate the public on parking regulations and ordinances to enhance their understanding of parking opportunities within the Borough.
This position requires the ability to work or stand for extended periods in all weather conditions and to proficiently use computers and / or hand-held electronic devices.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience in community relations, and a demonstrated record of trustworthiness in handling and accounting for money.
