Position Summary

Branch Group is searching for an Intern to join our Summer Internship program. We are searching for rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors who are pursuing degrees in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management and/or a related degree. Our program is designed to provide a structured and supportive learning environment whereby the Intern will develop impactful skills and attributes necessary for a successful career in the construction industry. We are looking for students with integrity because it's not just about the work we do, but how we do it.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform project audits for compliance
  • Develop budget for project team after receiving award of project.
  • Provide cumulative weekly cost reports for all active projects.
  • Conduct research on new construction software
  • Provide claim analysis for active projects.
  • Provide bid schedules to the Estimating team for active pursuits.
  • Provide baseline schedules for new projects.
  • Provide schedule updates for active projects.
  • Participate in cost planning and scheduling, materials procurement, cost control, and quality management
  • During the final stages of the program, the intern will prepare a presentation outlining their experience at Branch.
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action steps.

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled college students interested in Business, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management and/or a related degree.
  • Courteous and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers, customers and the public.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Travel is required. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is mandatory.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40 hours a week.
