The Brawley Group is a fast-paced, vertically integrated, real estate and asset management company with multiple growing divisions - based in Bloomington, IN. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Company Accountant to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with our experienced CPA team, which will handle the training for this position.
Responsibilities:
As Company Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the financial operations. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Day-to-Day Transaction Tracking: Accurately record and track all daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and any other financial activities within the company.
Data Entry: Enter financial data into our accounting software, and maintain up-to-date and organized records.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile all bank statements on a monthly basis and ensure that all transactions align with our financial records.
Assist with Financial Reporting: Assist the CPA team in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis .
Vendor and Expense Management: Monitor and manage accounts payable, process invoices, and maintain accurate vendor records.
Monthly Owner Statement Reconciliations: Review all income and expenses for our third-party owners. Publish these reports and release funds to each owner monthly.
Quarterly Investor Reports: Work with the CPA team on a quarterly basis to review all income and expenses for our syndication assets. Release investor distributions.
Assist with Budgeting: This hire will be asked to collaborate with our CPAs to create a monthly budget for the company and report deviations to the management team.
Additional Financial Tasks: Tackle additional financial tasks and projects as assigned by the CPA team or management team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and AppFolio preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and be trained by our CPA team.
