Accountant

The Role

The Bronx Brewery is seeking to add a full-time Accountant to oversee our accounting and bookkeeping, to help support the maintenance and creation of various financial reports tied to the business and assist with other finance and operational projects as needed. The role will require an accounting background, will report directly to the Director of Finance & HR and will work principally out of our Bronx location.

• Daily accounting tasks (bookkeeping, AR, with heavy focus on AP)
• Receive, review, and input all incoming bills and invoices
• Manage restaurant inventory management software with respect to accounting functions
• Prepare supporting reports for income taxes, excise and other taxes
• Bank account and credit card reconciliation
• Assist in managing company cash flow
• Manage Prepaid and Accrued Expenses
• Prepare supporting documents for Financial Statements
• Reconcile production planning schedule with ERM software
• Admin and ad-hoc projects

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have been in a financial role, ideally as an accountant, for at least 3 years. This individual will have a strong understanding of financial statements and corporate finance. Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus but is not required.

The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented and intensely competitive. The position is new to the growing finance and accounting department; therefore this individual will need to be a self-starter who can demonstrate ownership and accountability with a drive for excellence. They will have a team player orientation and a high sense of urgency and energy.

• Accounting or finance degree

• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services, bookkeeping, and/or accounting

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and working understanding of financial models and month end close

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work, problem-solve, and manage independently and creatively

• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills to evaluate data and support business-wide decision-making

• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or other accounting software

Compensation

The Bronx Brewery offers an attractive compensation package for this role, including a salary ranging from $65,000 - $70,000, depending on experience. It also includes a benefits package with health/dental/vision/life and AD&D insurance, paid holidays and time off.
