Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
- 1-3 years of coaching experience within specific discipline is preferred
- A current professional certification, with CSCS or SCCC preferred
- A strong working knowledge and teaching skills in strength training analysis
- CPR, AED, First Aid training required
- Prior coaching experience and a good understanding of working with grade 9-12 student-athletes.
- Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology
- Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
Position Summary:
The Strength and Conditioning Coach involves overseeing all aspects of the BH Performance Training program, including high school classes, off-season speed development, and a Summer Training Camp. The program aims to nurture the overall growth of student-athletes, promoting physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. The role also entails establishing a positive training program culture that emphasizes effort, accountability, positivity, and unity, and promoting the program within the BH community. The job involves teaching proper training techniques, executing the Speed and Agility program, planning and leading a Summer Training program, and supervising assistant coaches. Additionally, the role involves regularly communicating with Head Coaches on player development, managing the Performance Training budget, and maintaining training equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate should demonstrate personal integrity and spiritual character and serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into day-to-day instruction
- Establish and adjust objectives by following athletic department guidelines and school goals
- Maintain an active school program which meets student-athletes’ needs, promotes student-athlete development, good sportsmanship, and Christian ideals
- Assist other coaches to make the athletic program function as an integral part of the overall school educational program
- Demonstrate behavior and provide Christian leadership that is professional, ethical, and responsible, and serves as a role model for all student-athletes, coaches, faculty, staff, opponents, and spectators
- Program Development:
- o Guiding all aspects of the BH Performance Training program, including high school classes for males and females, off-season speed development, Summer Training Camp, and overseeing the Middle School program;
- o Nurturing the overall growth of student-athletes, including their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being;
- o Establishing a dynamic training program culture that emphasizes effort, accountability, positivity, and unity;
- o Promoting the Performance Training program within the BH community
- Program Management and Delivery:
- o Teaching student-athletes proper training techniques, with a focus on progressions and regressions for each movement;
- o Executing the Speed and Agility program and engaging in appropriate injury prevention practices;
- o Planning and leading a Summer Training program, educating student-athletes and parents on proper sports nutrition;
- o Demonstrating personal integrity and spiritual character and serving as a positive role model;
- o Regularly communicating with Head Coaches on player development, managing the Performance Training budget, and maintaining training equipment and supplies;
- o Supervising assistant coaches, delegating responsibilities as needed, and maintaining required records and forms;
- Maintain inventory of all equipment and supplies
- Communicate to the student-athletes and parents/guardians
- Demonstrate fairness and consistency in all decisions and judgements related to the student-athlete’s participation and involvement in athletics
- Assist in the transportation of student athletes to and from sporting events
- Maintain records by documenting learning accomplishments, attendance, and behavior
- Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with Brook Hill team members in order to strengthen student performance and support
- Participate in the broader ministry of Brook Hill by contributing time, talent and treasure beyond assigned role and responsibilities
- Continue professional and technical growth by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required as it relates to the duties described
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of School or a designee of the Head of School

- Must be able to travel locally, including field trips and off campus activities, as well as nationally as needed.
