Overview
Support the Legal Department and Attorneys in a variety of roles ranging from research to interviewing managers and/or employees.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials.
- Investigating and fact-finding for cases.
- Conduct internal investigations in collaboration with compliance or human resources.
- Identify relevant legal articles, laws and judicial decisions for cases.
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts and agreements.
- Assist in preparing routine contracts for the organization.
- Organize, indexing and tracking files.
- Analyze and organizing information to produce reports.
- Monitor and reviewing government regulations.
- Provide administrative support for attorneys in court and within the organization.
- Coordinates the intake, review, approval and execution, and storage of contracts for the organization.
- Coordinates organization’s contracting process and acts as a liaison between departments seeking contract review and the legal department to ensure that new contracts are reviewed and expiring contracts renewed in accordance with existing contract policy.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies.
Experience:
- Minimum (3) three years of equivalent work experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent organizational and logic skills.
- Familiarity with legal databases.
- Familiarity with contract management software.
- Ability to multi-task and perform on deadline.
- Ability to fully utilize organizations’ electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required.
Licenses, Certifications:
- Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA)
- Or the American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP) credential offered by the American Alliance of Paralegals, Inc.
Physical Requirements:
- Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Position requires prolonged periods of sitting and use of a computer and screen viewing throughout the working day.
